Privacy Policy

We believe in privacy by default. This policy explains what data we collect, what we don't, and how it's used. Read carefully if you care about this stuff — we tried to make it short and honest.

TL;DR

• We do not require accounts. You can use every calculator without signing up or providing any personal info.
• Your calculator inputs never leave your browser. All math runs client-side. We don't see your salary, mortgage details, or anything you type into a calculator.
• No third-party tracking pixels. No Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Meta CAPI, or similar.
• No advertising networks. No retargeting cookies.

1. What we collect

1.1 Things you actively give us

If you email us (e.g. via our contact page), we'll have your email address and whatever you wrote. We use this only to reply.

1.2 Things our hosting provider sees automatically

Like every website, when your browser requests a page from us, our hosting provider (Vercel) logs basic server data: your IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer, and timestamp. This is standard access logging used to operate any web server.

Vercel's logs are retained according to Vercel's own privacy policy. We don't actively analyze or store this data ourselves.

1.3 Things we explicitly DON'T collect

• Your calculator inputs (salary, income, mortgage details, etc.)
• Anything you type into our search bar
• Your name, phone number, payment info — we don't ask for any
• Behavioral profile data (no analytics-based tracking of which pages you visited or how long)

2. Cookies

We use functional cookies only — for things like remembering whether you've dismissed a one-time UI banner. We do NOT use:

• Tracking or analytics cookies
• Advertising cookies
• Third-party marketing cookies

Many browsers let you block or clear cookies. Doing so will not break the calculators.

3. Third-party services

We use a small number of third parties to run the site:

• Vercel (hosting). Sees standard request logs as described above.
• Google Fonts (Inter font, served via Next.js). Next.js self-hosts the font, so no requests are made to Google's servers when you load a page.

That's it. No analytics, no chat widget, no ad networks, no email marketing platforms, no session-replay tools.

4. Data retention

We don't store user-input data because we don't collect it. If you email us, we retain the email correspondence for as long as it's useful for the conversation (typically up to 12 months).

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR / CCPA / similar), you may have rights including:

• The right to access data we hold about you
• The right to ask us to delete it
• The right to opt out of any processing

Since we collect very little, most requests resolve with "we don't have anything about you." For the email correspondence we may have, just email hello@emiro.app and we'll handle it within 30 days.

6. Children

Emiro is for general audiences. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or 16, where applicable). If you believe we have, please email us and we'll delete it.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy materially (e.g. adding analytics, or monetizing with ads), we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and surface the change visibly on the homepage for a reasonable period.
